'Many pages are devoted to extolling the lofty traditions of Mexico and to calls on all Mexicans to unite in quelling the revolt of the Texans. The treaties signed by Santa Anna in Texas are said to have no effect and final victory over Texas is said to be certain'--Streeter, Texas I:859.
